Fraser House

Creating a brand and website to propel the launch
of new tech hub, Fraser House

Brief
Brand,
Design,
Digital

Fraser House is a new, collaborative workspace and community hub for fast-growing technology and digital businesses. The cutting-edge £1.5m tech hub in Lancaster opened in 2021, offering space for businesses to collaborate and grow.

After a competitive pitch process, Lancashire County Council chose us to develop a new brand and collateral to take the project forward and get ready for opening. As a major development in our local city, we couldn’t wait to get started!

BRAND DEVELOPMENT

get in touch

With a rich history of innovation in Lancaster, our research led us on an insightful discovery process. We found that White Cross Business Park, where Fraser House is based, was one of the first Linoleum factories in the area.

Fraser House was constructed and utilised by local pioneers – the Storey Brothers and Lord Ashton – to produce Linoleum and oil cloth, among other uses over the years. This unique history of innovation, growth, and technology was critical to our brand development process, as this pioneering spirit is still reflective in the space today.

We wanted to highlight Fraser House’s rich, innovative past, while bringing to life its exciting, high-tech future.

The Fraser House logo is built on the premise of connectivity. We explored the idea of digital connections and created letter forms to represent the community and building connections. The word ‘house’ appears stronger to showcase the housing of digital and tech talent.

BRAND DEVICE

get in touch

The brand device is designed with inspiration from the building’s rich history. We explored 1920s Linoleum patterns and created a new mark to represent the floor plan, which suitably reflects the physical, adaptable Fraser House space. When displayed in the Fraser House brand colours, it provokes a digital feel.

DIGITAL DESIGN

Get in Touch

We created Fraser House’s launch website, aiming to build interest in the community, as well as encourage sign-ups and tours of the building. We also designed an array of social assets for use across Fraser House’s social media channels.

“The team at Two Stories captured the brand identity we were looking for at Fraser House perfectly. They understood the community element of the business and were sympathetic to the unique history of the building. The branding sessions helped create the story and the final designs were just what we were looking for.”
