Designing and developing a new, user-friendly, online presence for European venture capital firm MMC.

MMC is a venture capital firm investing in early stage, high-growth UK companies. Built by a multi-generational team with diverse backgrounds, the company has spent over two decades partnering with founders from Seed and Series A stages to help them grow their start-ups.
With a core focus on cutting-edge AI and data science, MMC are one of Europe’s most active investors in AI companies, backing firms such as Synthesia and Signal AI as well as well-known consumer tech companies such as Gousto and Bloom & Wild.
MMC came to Two Stories with a brief to develop its brand identity online through the creation of a new, user-friendly website.
Digital brand development
Our digital development process kicked off with a workshop involving MMC’s marketing working group, made up of MMC’s founder and senior team. We explored the brief and success criteria, looking at MMC’s existing website analytics, and delivered a proposed site map.
After the workshop, we went into our discovery phase. MMC’s audiences of potential and existing investors, portfolio, and team were considered throughout the process.
We used MMC’s extensive brand guidelines to adapt the brand for web, whilst finding new, on-brand ways to bring their content to life and showcase its personality online. We wanted to ensure that knowledge was paramount during the design process, finding innovative ways to make the content engaging and connected.
This resulted in the production of full design deliverables including wireframes, website design and development.
Website development
We produced a fully bespoke website for MMC, covering its company, portfolio, team to highlight MMC’s expertise and experience, and the creation of a significant media hub with news, research, and podcasts.
We developed a series of ways to display information to ensure the website stayed looking fresh, utilising blocks of content to make new pages look unique and labelling information to help content stand out against the busy site.
A key consideration for us was to create tons of intuitive, internal links between information shown on the site, to create a flow of content through the ability to continuously click through to related items.
Ease of use was also crucial, ensuring the website was simple for the team to keep content up-to-date in its fast-paced industry.
We continue to work with MMC, supporting the team with offline assets, reports, documents, and illustrations.
